This Privacy Policy explains how Ask My Interview ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and live transcription / AI interview assistant service (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Overview
Ask My Interview ("we," "us," or "our") is responsible for deciding how and why your personal information is processed. If you have questions, contact us at support@askmyinterview.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you register, we collect your email address and, if you sign up with a password, a securely hashed version of it (we never store your password in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address and a unique identifier from Google; we do not receive your Google password.
Audio, transcripts & questions
While a session is active, we capture audio from your microphone and, if you choose to share one, from a browser tab, window, or screen, and stream it to our speech-recognition provider to produce a live transcript. When you (or the Auto Answer feature) submit a detected question, we send the question text to our AI provider to generate an answer. See Section 4 for more detail on how this audio and text is handled.
Payment information
If you purchase credits, payment is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the amount, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
Usage & device information
We automatically collect information such as your credit balance and usage history (metered in seconds of transcription), session start/stop times and duration, and standard technical data like IP address, browser type, and device information, primarily for security, abuse prevention, and to keep the Service running correctly.
3. How we use your information
- To create and authenticate your account and keep you signed in;
- To provide live transcription and AI-drafted answers during a session;
- To track your credit balance and process purchases;
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service, including diagnosing technical issues and preventing fraud or abuse;
- To communicate with you about your account or respond to support requests; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your audio or transcripts for advertising.
4. Audio, transcripts & AI processing
Audio you capture through the Service is streamed to a third-party speech-recognition provider in real time to generate a transcript, and question text you submit (manually or via auto-detection) is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate an answer. These providers process this data under their own terms and privacy commitments to us as our service providers, and we require that they do not use your data to train their models except where you have separately agreed to that with them.
You are responsible for who is present on any call or interview you use the Service during, and for obtaining any consent required by law before recording or transcribing that conversation. See Section 4 of our Terms & Conditions for more detail.
7. Data retention
We retain account information, credit/usage history, and session metadata for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations. Live transcript text and audio are processed to generate the transcript and AI answers during your session; we do not intentionally retain raw audio beyond what is needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 10).
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit, hashing passwords, and restricting access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@askmyinterview.com and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada, or certain U.S. states), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, email support@askmyinterview.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law. You can also update your account information directly, or delete your account, from within the Service.
If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we have not addressed your concern, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. International transfers
We and the third-party providers we use may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect information transferred internationally.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
